The homeopathic medicine Caulophyllum is rendered from the root of the plant, Blue Cohosh. Other names for this plant include Papoose Root and Squaw Root which are Native American in nature.
What is the History of Caulophyllum?
The Blue Cohosh plant was used historically by Native Americans. Indians believed that the flower of this plant were able to induce labor and bring about menstruation.
What are the Benefits of Caulophyllum?
Caulophyllum is a remedy that acts on the female reproductive organs. It is a uterine remedy known to help with hormonal issues that result from periods, pregnancy and menopause.
However this powerful remedy is also known to address issues of rheumatism. Especially when the arthritis is in small joints such as fingers and toes.
Some conditions that this remedy can help with include:
- lack of uterine tone
- ineffectual labor pains
- menstrual cramps with fatigue
- sleepless & restless

Pregnancy & Labor
Caulophyllum is a labor remedy if the contractions are weak and ineffective. It is also used during episodes of false labor. If a woman is having true contractions but the cervix is not dilating then Caulophyllum may also be considered.

How I Have Personally Used this Remedy
