Learn to make simple and refreshing raw chocolate milk. A healthy and delicious treat that the whole family will love.

Who doesn’t have a fond memory as a kid of gulping down a cold glass of chocolate milk? If you are an 80’s or 90’s kid like myself you probably remember your chocolate milk being made with pasteurized whole milk, a bottle of Nesquik and a spoon.
I have learned a lot about health and nourishing nutrition since my childhood days and personally don’t want my kids to consume processed foods like Nesquik. However, I do want them to be able to look back fondly on their childhood and remember drinking a delicious glass of chocolate milk.
That is why in our house we choose to make this unbelievable simple recipe for raw chocolate milk. It is healthy and delicious. With only four ingredients this drink can be made quickly for your kids and yourself to enjoy.
Raw Chocolate Milk Tips
- This recipe tastes best and has the most health benefits when you use unpasteurized raw milk
- If possible choose organic ingredients
- Use a high quality brand salt such as Redmond’s
Why Choose Raw Milk?
Raw milk is milk that hasn’t been altered. It isn’t pasteurized or homogenized. Raw milk has naturally occurring vitamins, minerals and pro-biotics and is more easily digestible. Not only can you be confident about the healthy things that are in raw milk you can be equally confident about what is not in it. There are no antibiotics, GMOs or growth hormones. And if all of these reasons aren’t enough…raw milk is absolutely delicious!

Where Can I Find Raw Milk?
The rules for selling raw milk are different in every state. You can check out the website Get Raw Milk and enter your city or zip code to find the closest supplier to your location. If you do not see a supplier listed near you I would try reaching out to local cow farms in your area. Shopping local and supporting small scale farms is something great to do to contribute to your community.
Where Do I Source Many of My Organic Ingredients?
I agree with what many people say. Shopping organic can be expensive. There have been seasons in my family’s life when our budget wouldn’t allow for organic and that was okay. We did the best with what we had and we just tried to purchase and eat whole foods. If you are at a place where you can afford organic items I definitely encourage you to do so. Spending extra money on healthier food options is always worth it in my book.
I purchase the majority of my organic items from a food co-op company called Azure Standard. They allow you to buy in bulk at a cheaper price. Items that I use frequently in my kitchen are purchased in bulk from Azure.

Why Do I Add Salt?
Milk, cocoa and maple syrup would be enough to make delicious chocolate milk but in my opinion adding just a little bit of real salt takes it to the next level. Who doesn’t love a good sweet and salty combination? Yum. The truth is I don’t only add the salt for the flavor combination but for the health benefits as well.
All salts are not created equally. When I say real salt I am referring to quality salt that hasn’t been processed. I personally use Redmond’s salt. It is unrefined and has no additives or pollutants. The health benefits of real salt is that it includes trace minerals that are necessary and beneficial for our bodies.
